Bio
Lee Fleming BSc PGCE is a contemporary Scottish artist who currently resides in the beautiful town of Ayr. With over two decades of experience in the field of education, Lee has imparted her knowledge across Scotland and Europe, nurturing young minds and inspiring creativity. However, it was in 2019 when she decided to embark on a deeply personal journey, returning to her artistic roots and pursuing her passion for Fine Art at Ayrshire College.
Now in her fourth year of studying BA (Hons) New Media Art at the esteemed University of the West of Scotland, Lee's own artistic creations are a distinctive reflection of her firsthand experiences, the passages of life that have shaped her, and her profound contemplations on the human condition. Delving into critical topics such as feminist theory, mental health, and neurodiversity, Lee strives to shed light on these aspects that are often misconstrued or unnoticed by neurotypical individuals, ultimately aiming to "make the invisible, visible."
What sets Lee apart is her unyielding curiosity towards various forms of media. She finds herself perpetually captivated by the intricacies of textures, the depth of marks, the interplay of layers, and the harmonious composition of colours. Her true artistic brilliance shines through as she deftly combines natural and man-made elements, skilfully lifting and illuminating her work to new heights. Although proficient across a range of artistic disciplines, Lee finds solace and artistic fulfilment in the realms of fine art photography, figurative drawing, and moving image; however, it is their collective integration that truly unleashes the full potential of her digital fine art creations, allowing each individual component to weave seamlessly into a superior and captivating whole.
